Lady Bay Open Gardens returns for their 31st annual event.  Taking place on Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.

This year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever, featuring a stunning display of 27 gardens plus 17 ‘garden in a wheelbarrow’ entries as part of a competition with the theme of ‘reuse and recycle’. There will also be music, plant stalls and refreshment both days.

The event aims to raise even more funds for worthy causes with ticket proceeds supporting the Lady Bay Community Fund alongside various charities chosen by individual garden owners.

"We're thrilled to have a fantastic mix of new and returning gardens contributing to this special event," says event organiser Victoria Branch. "We're also excited to see the creativity unleashed in the 'Garden in a Wheelbarrow' competition – it's sure to be a delightful addition!"

Look out for the brightly coloured ‘Open Garden’ Rex Gooding boards outside the houses taking part. Start at any participating garden.  Ticket entry programmes can be purchased for £5 for adult (18’s and under are free) which will be valid for the two days.  There will be cashless ticket points at 8 Melbourne Road & 45 Pierrepont Road as well as cash payments at any FULL open garden. Free parking kindly offered at Nottingham Rugby at the end of Holme Road.

The organisers extend their gratitude to this year's sponsors, Rex Gooding and John A Stephens, for their continued support.

Don't miss this opportunity to explore the hidden gems of Lady Bay's gardens while supporting local charities. Mark your calendars and join us for a beautiful and inspiring weekend!

As part of the Open Gardens weekend we are inviting children & adults to create a garden in a wheelbarrow!!

    Any barrow, large or small.

The theme is Recycle Repurpose Reuse so old leaking barrows can be given a new lease of life.

Wheelbarrows will be displayed in front gardens so that visitors can enjoy them as they stroll around the Open Gardens.

The competition will be sponsored by our local supplier John A Stephens who have generously offered to supply compost for the event.

Individual, group and family entries are all welcome.

Flowers, vegetables, fruit, whimsical, magical …. the choices are as wide as the imagination!

To enter your wheel barrow you can use the same form as the garden entry form, just fill in that you are entering the wheel barrow competition.  Entry form HERE.  For further information eMail: [email protected]

Laby bay open gardens 2023 results

Last year’s Lady Bay Open Gardens was a huge success, thank you to all that supported the event.  Over 1,100 adults visited plus children with proceeds donated to the Lady Bay Community Fund.  In addition, garden hosts also raised over £1,300 for their chosen charities.

The volunteer committee met after the weekend for a post event meeting, and all felt the event was a resounding success. Visitors enjoyed meeting and chatting to gardeners over the two days, they also said that the variety of different spaces on show and the warm welcome made all the difference. The refreshments and entertainment were also enjoyed by all.

We would like to thank this year’s sponsors Rex Gooding, Moores' Nurseries and Garden Centre and John A Stephens for their support and to Nottinghamshire County Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council for their contributions towards printing costs and of course to all the homeowners who are taking part this year.
